Method
To prepare the batter:
Mix all the dry powders together. Place this in a mixing bowl. Add 2 and a half cups of water to form a thick batter. Blend well so that no lumps remain. If you feel the batter is too thick then add another half cup of water. Keep the batter ready. Spread out the coconut powder on a plate. Heat enough oil in a kadhai for deep frying. Keep the oil on low flame and proceed to prepare the buns. Cut a small portion on top of each bun. With the tip of a knife scoop out the inside of the bun, taking care not to damage the outside crust of the bun, line the inside with jam and then place a portion of the ice cream so that it fills the scooped portion. Immediately dip th filled bun into the prepared batter, roll it in the coconut powder and deep fry the coated buns only for 1 minute or so till brown on the outside. Serve immediately. You have to prepare this dessert at the last moment to enjoy the fried ice cream inside the bun.
